Abstract
The novel UV-absorbers are compounds of the formula I ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 is, for example, hydrogen, n is one of the numbers 1 or 2 and R.sup.2 is an appropriate monovalent or divalent radical, for example --OH or --O--CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --O--. The UV-absorbers are used in particular for stabilising and improving lacquers and photographic material.
Claims6
A compound of the formula I ##STR41## in which R.sup.1 is H, Cl, straight-chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or straight-chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy and n is one of the numbers 1 or 2, and in which,
- (a) when n=1, R.sup.2 is ##STR42## and (b) when n=2, R.sup.2 is ##STR43## R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 independently of one another are H, straight-chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl, straight-chain or branched C.sub.3 -C.sub.18 alkyl which is interrupted by O, S or --NR.sup.6 --, C.sub.5 -C.sub.12 cycloalkyl, straight-chain or branched C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 alkenyl, C.sub.7 -C.sub.15 aralkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.14 aryl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 hydroxyalkyl, or R.sub.4 and R.sub.5, together with the nitrogen atom, are a pyrrolidine, piperidine, piperazine or morpholine ring, R.sub.6 is H, straight-chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl, C.sub.5 -C.sub.12 cycloalkyl, straight-chain or branched C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 alkenyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.14 aryl or C.sub.7 -C.sub.18 aralkyl, and R.sub.10 is straight-chain or branched C.sub.2 -C.sub.12 alkylene which may be interrupted by --O--, cyclohexylene, ##STR44## or R.sup.10 and R.sup.6, together with the two nitrogen atoms, are a piperazine ring.
A compound of the formula I ##STR47## in which R.sup.1 is H, Cl, straight-chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or straight-chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkoxy and n is one of the numbers 1 or 2, and in which,
- (a) when n=1, R.sup.2 is Cl or --OR.sup.3, and
- (b) when n=2, R.sup.2 is --O--R.sup.9 --O--, R.sup.3 is straight-chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl which is substituted by ##STR48## or --O--Si(R.sup.6).sub.3 or --O--CO(R.sup.6), straight-chain or branched C.sub.3 -C.sub.18 alkyl which is interrupted by --NR.sup.6 -- and which can be unsubstituted or substituted by OH or --O--CO(R.sup.6), or ##STR49## R.sub.6 is H, straight-chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl, C.sub.5 -C.sub.12 cycloalkyl, straight-chain or branched C.sub.3 -C.sub.8 alkenyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.14 aryl or C.sub.7 -C.sub.18 aralkyl, R.sub.7 is H, straight-chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by --PO(OR.sup.8).sub.2, phenyl which is unsubstituted or substituted by OH, C.sub.7 -C.sub.18 aralkyl or --CH.sub.2 OR.sup.8, R.sup.8 is straight-chain or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl, straight-chain or branched C.sub.3 -C.sub.18 alkenyl, C.sub.5 -C.sub.10 cycloalkyl, C.sub.6 -C.sub.16 aryl or C.sub.7 -C.sub.15 aralkyl, R.sub.9 is C.sub.4 alkinylene, or ##STR50## and R.sup.11 is straight-chain or branched C.sub.2 -C.sub.8 alkylene, straight-chain or branched C.sub.4 -C.sub.10 alkylene which is interrupted by --O--, cycloalkylene, arylene, ##STR51##
