Abstract
Metallic card clothing is illustrated having sharp metallic points at tips of teeth formed by punching and thereafter exerting a mechanical force bending metal over at the tips of the teeth.
Claims5
Metallic cord clothing formed from a strip of profile wire comprising:
- a plurality of longitudinally aligned teeth punched in said wire;
- metal which has been bent over at the tips of respective teeth forming longitudinally extending points;
- hardened metal carding surfaces at the ends of the teeth which include the points formed at the tips of respective teeth;
- whereby improved carding action is provided.
