L-654,040 of the structure: ##STR1## is a novel antibacterial and isolated from the novel organism Streptoverticillium synroense, strain MA6011, deposited at the ATCC.
Claims1
A method of preparing a compound of Formula I which comprises aerobically cultivating Streptoverticillium synroense strain MA6011, ATCC 53699, in an aqueous nutrient medium containing assimilable sources of carbon, nitrogen and inorganic salts under submerged aerobic conditions and recovering said compound.
