Abstract
Bicyclic decanedioic acids corresponding to the following general formula ##STR1## in which R represents a C.sub.1 -C.sub.22 alkyl radical, a C.sub.2 -C.sub.34 alkylcarbonyl radical, or a residue of a polyalkoxylated C.sub.2 -C.sub.22 fatty alcohol, represent a new class of dicarboxylic acids which are useful as flotation aids in the flotation of non-sulfidic ores.
Claims6
A bicyclic decanedioic acid corresponding to the formula in which R is ##STR6## (a) a linear or branched, saturated C.sub.1 -C.sub.22 alkyl radical, or (b) a linear or branched, saturated C.sub.3 -C.sub.34 alkylcarbonyl radical, or
- (c) a residue of a polyalkoxylated fatty alcohol corresponding to the formula
- R.sup.1 --O--(CH.sub.2 --CHR.sup.2 --O).sub.n --CH.sub.2 --CHR.sup.2(II)
- in which R.sup.1 is a saturated C.sub.2 -C.sub.22 alkyl group, R.sup.2 is hydrogen, methyl, or both, and n is a number of from 0 to 24.
A bicyclic decanedioic acid corresponding to the formula ##STR7## in which R is a linear or branched, saturated C.sub.1 -C.sub.22 alkyl radical.
A bicyclic decanedioic acid corresponding to the formula ##STR8## in which R is a residue of a polyalkyoxylated fatty alcohol corresponding to the formula
- R.sup.1 --O--(CH.sub.2 --O).sub.n --CH.sub.2 --CHR.sup.2 (II)
- in which R.sup.1 is a saturated C.sub.2 -C.sub.22 alkyl group, R.sup.2 is hydrogen, methyl, or both, and n is a number of from 0 to 24.
