Abstract
2-(Disubstituted amino)acetamides of the formula ##STR1## wherein R is alkyl or phenyl; R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of amino, alkyl, allyl, substituted carbonyl wherein said substituent is haloalkyl, alkoxycarbonyl, alkylthio, carboxy, alkoxy, alkyl, vinyl, haloanilino, phenylthio, alkylamino, benzylamino, alkoxycarbonylalkyl or substituted carbamyl wherein the substituent is alkyl halocarbanilide; alkylthio thiocarbonyl; or mono-haloanilino carbonylmethylene, alkoxy carbonylmethylene, or carboxymethylene; R.sup.2 is hydrogen, alkyl or phenyl; X is halo or haloalkyl; and n is an integer selected from 1-3, inclusive; the compounds are useful as herbicidal agents.
Claims26
A compound having the formula ##STR75## wherein R is C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl or phenyl;
- R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of amino, substituted carbonyl wherein said substituent is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylthio, carboxy, phenylthio, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylamino;
- and C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkylthio thiocarbonyl.
A herbicidal composition comprising:
- (a) a herbicidally effective amount of a compound having the formula ##STR76## R is C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl or phenyl;
- R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of amino, substituted carbonyl wherein said substituent is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylthio, carboxy, phenylthio, or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylamino;
- and C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkylthio thiocarbonyl;
- and
- (b) a herbicidally suitable inert solvent or carrier.
A method of controlling undesirable vegetation comprising applying to said vegetation or to the locus thereof a herbicidally effective amount of a compound having the formula ##STR77## wherein R is C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl or phenyl;
- R.sup.1 is selected from the group consisting of amino, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, allyl, substituted carbonyl wherein said substituent is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 haloalkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkoxycarbonyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylthio, carboxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, vinyl, haloanilino, phenylthio, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkylamino, benzylamino, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 alkoxycarbonylalkyl or substituted carbamyl wherein the substituent is C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 alkyl halocarbanilide;
- C.sub.2 -C.sub.4 alkylthio thiocarbonyl;
- mono-haloanilino carbonylmethylene, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkoxy carbonylmethylene, and carboxymethylene;
- R.sup.2 is phenyl;
- X is halo or C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 haloalkyl;
- and
- n is an integer selected from 1-3 inclusive.
