Abstract
Novel cycloalkane-5.dbd.-spiro-hydantoins of formula ##STR1## wherein A is selected from the group consisting of ##STR2## and the remaining substituents are defined below having strong, selective herbicidal activity and novel intermediates and a process for their preparation.
Claims13
A compound of the formula ##STR137## wherein Q is --CH.dbd. or --N.dbd.;
- ##STR138## R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each independently hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, at least one of R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 being hydrogen;
- R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are each independently alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or cycloalkyl of 3 to 6 carbon atoms;
- provided that at least one of them is C.sub.3 -alkyl or C.sub.3 -cycloalkyl;
- and X and Y are halogen, with the proviso that Q is not --CH.dbd. when A is ##STR139##
