A composition comprising an aromatic carbonate polymer in admixture with an effective amount of a stabilizing compound effective to inhibit yellowing upon exposure to sterilizing radiation, said stabilizing compound being an alkene represented by the general formula ##STR6## wherein R.sup.7-10 are independently selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, cycloalkenyl, aryl, aralkyl, alkaryl, alkoxy and aryloxy.
A composition comprising an aromatic carbonate polymer in admixture with an effective amount of a stabilizing alkene (>C.dbd.C<) compound effective to inhibit yellowing upon exposure to sterilizing radiation, said alkene being 1,2-diphenylethene.
A composition comprising an aromatic carbonate polymer is admixture with an effective amount of a stabilizing alkene (>C.dbd.C<) compound effective to inhibit yellowing upon exposure to sterilizing radiation, said alkene being allylphenol.
A composition comprising an aromatic carbonate polymer in admixture with an effective amount of a stabilizing alkene (>C.dbd.C<) compound effective to inhibit yellowing upon exposure to sterilizing radiation, said stabilizing compound being selected from the group consisting of 2,4-dimethyl-1-pentene, 2-phenyl-2-pentene, 1-dodecene, 1,4-diphenyl-1,3-butadiene, 2-methyl-undecene and limonene.
