Abstract
A polyphenylene ether resin composition comprising as the major components: (a) 100 parts by weight of polyphenylene ether resin, and (b) 1-30 parts by weight of hydrocarbon resin which has a softening point of 140.degree.-180.degree. C. and a ratio of weight-average molecular weight to number-average molecular weight M.sub.w /M.sub.n of 2.0 or less, and is prepared by polymerizing a raw material oil of hydrocarbon in which a total content of indene and methylidene is 80% by weight or more by the use of a Friedel-Crafts type catalyst.
