Abstract
A bleaching composition comprises (a) a peroxide and (b) an organic peracid precursor having at least one group selected from (b-1) and (b-2) and then further comprises a detergent component(s). ##STR1##

A bleaching composition comprising (a) hydrogen peroxide or a peroxide capable of releasing hydrogen peroxide in an aqueous solution, and (b) an organic peracid precursor, the mole ratio of (a)/(b) being in the range of from 99.9/0.1 to 20/80, said organic peracid precursor being at least one member selected from the group consisting of ##STR52## wherein X is an anion, R.sub.1 is alkyl having 1 to 24 carbon atoms, and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms;
- ##STR53## wherein X, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 have the same meanings as defined above, R.sub.21 is alkyl having 1 to 20 carbon atoms or phenyl, and n is a number of 1 to 3;
- ##STR54## wherein X has the same meaning as defined above;
- ##STR55## ##STR56## wherein X has the same meaning as defined above, R.sub.31, R.sub.32, R.sub.33 and R.sub.34 are each alkyl having 1 to 3 carbon atoms, and n.sub.2 is a number of from 1 to 9;
- and, the reaction product of ##STR57## with chloroacetonitrile.
