Abstract
An optical information recording medium includes an optical information recording layer supported on a substrate. The recording layer contains an organic dye represented by general formula: ##STR1## where R is 1,2-naphthylene group, 2,3-naphthylene group, 3,4-naphthylene group, or ##STR2##
Claims12
An optical information recording medium, which is capable of recording signals for retrieval, based on differences or changes in reflectivity, comprising:
- an optical information recording layer;
- and
- a carrier carrying said recording layer,
- said recording layer comprising an organic dye represented by the formula:
- ##STR61## where R is 1,2-naphthylene group, 2,3-naphthylene group or 3,4-naphthylene group;
- n is 1;
- R.sup.1 is an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, an aralkyl group or phenyl group;
- A is ##STR62## R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, ##STR63## where pH is phenyl group, or ##STR64## R.sup.3 is an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms;
- X is an anion selected from an anion group consisting of perchlorate, fluoroborate, iodide, chloride, bromide or p-toluenesulfonate;
- Y.sup.1 is an alkyl group having 1 to 18 carbon atoms, --R.sup.4 OR.sup.5, --R.sup.4 COR.sup.5, or --R.sup.4 COOR.sup.5 ;
- Y.sup.2 is the same as Y.sup.1 ;
- R.sup.4 is an alkylene group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms;
