Claims26
A compound of the following Formula I:
- ##STR17## wherein:
- X, X.sub.1 are the same or independently hydrogen, lower alkyl or one of X and X.sub.1 is hydrogen and the other is in the ortho position to A and is the group ##STR18## A is O, S, SO, SO.sub.2 or ##STR19## R is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl or collectively with R.sub.1 is a bond or an alkylene chain to form a saturated carbocyclic ring of from 3 to 6 ring atoms, or collectively with R.sub.2 is a bond or alkylene chain to form a saturated monoheterocyclic ring of 5 to 6 ring atoms;
- R.sub.1 is hydrogen, methyl, ethyl or lower alkoxyloweralkyl;
- R.sub.2 is a C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 straight or branched chain alkyl, allyl, optionally substituted phenyl loweralkyl, said phenyl group being substituted by 1-3 substituents selected from hydrogen, chlorine, bromine, loweralkoxy, loweralkyl and trifluoromethyl cycloalkyl, cycloalkylloweralkyl, or together with R.sub.3 is an alkylene chain to form a heterocyclic ring of from 4 to 7 ring atoms or together with R.sub.3 forms the system --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --O--CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 -- or ##STR20## R.sub.3 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 straight or branched chain alkyl, allyl, optionally substituted phenyl loweralkyl, cycloalkyl, cycloalkylloweralkyl, said phenyl group being substituted by 1-3 substituents selected from hydrogen, chlorine, bromine, loweralkoxy, loweralkyl and trifluoromethyl;
- R.sub.4 is hydrogen C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 straight or branched chain alkyl, allyl, optionally substituted phenyl loweralkyl, cycloalkylloweralkyl, said phenyl group being substituted by 1-3 substituents selected from hydrogen, chlorine, bromine, loweralkoxy, loweralkyl and trifluoromethyl or together with R.sub.2 is an alkylene chain to form a saturated diheterocyclic ring of from 6 to 7 ring atoms;
- R.sub.5 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 straight or branched chain alkyl;
- B is lower alkyl, phenyl, --CH.dbd.CH--D, or --CH.sub.2 --CH.sub.2--D;
- D is ##STR21## where E,E.sub.1, are the same or independently hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy or halogen;
- m,p and r are the integers 0,1 or 2;
- and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof;
- with the provisos that:
- (a) when R and R.sub.1 form a ring then R.sub.2 together with R.sub.4 cannot be a ring,
- (b) the sum of m,p and r cannot be greater than 3,
- (c) when one of X or X.sub.1 is the group ##STR22## then A must be --O--, (d) when A is --O--, --S--, or ##STR23## and either or both of R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are optionally substituted phenyl loweralkyl then the linkage between --A-- and ##STR24## cannot consist of a straight or branched chain alkyl.
