Abstract
Bicyclic sulfonamide derivatives represented by the formula: ##STR1## (wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl; R.sub.2 is lower alkyl, aralkyl, or aryl which may be substituted by lower alkyl, alkoxy, acetoxy, hydroxy, halogen, nitro or phenyl; and the wavy line indicates R or S configuration or their mixture) or their salt being used as antithrombotic, antivasoconstricting, and antibronchoconstricting drugs and the process therefor.

A compound of the formula:
- ##STR94## (wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl;
- R.sub.2 is lower alkyl, aralkyl or aryl which may be substituted by lower alkyl, alkoxy, acetoxy, hydroxy, halogen, nitro or phenyl;
- and the wavy line indicates R or S configuration or their mixture) or salt thereof.
A process for preparing a compound of the formula:
- ##STR95## (wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl;
- R.sub.2 is lower alkyl, aralkyl or aryl which may be substituted by lower alkyl, alkoxy, acetoxy, hydroxy, halogen, nitro or phenyl;
- and the wavy line indicates R or S configuration or their mixture) or salt thereof which comprises reacting a compound of the formula:
- ##STR96## (wherein R'.sub.1 is lower alkyl;
- and the wavy line is the same as defined above) or salt thereof with a compound of the formula:
- Hal--SO.sub.2 --R.sub.2 (wherein Hal is halogen;
- and R.sub.2 is the same as defined above) and, if necessary, applying the resulting compound to hydrolysis and/or salt formation.

A process for preparing a compound of the formula:
- ##STR97## (wherein R.sub.1 is hydrogen or lower alkyl;
- R.sub.2 is lower alkyl, aralkyl or aryl which may be substituted by lower alkyl, alkoxy, acetoxy, hydroxy, halogen, nitro or phenyl;
- and the wavy line indicates R or S configuration or their mixture) or salt thereof which comprises reacting a compound of the formula:
- ##STR98## (wherein R.sub.2 and the wavy line is the same as defined above) or its equivalent with a compound of the formual:
- (Ar).sub.3 P.dbd.CH--(CH.sub.2).sub.3 COOR.sub.1
- (wherein Ar is aryl;
- and R.sub.1 is the same as defined above) and, if necessary, applying the resulting compound to esterfication, hydrolysis and/or salt formation.
