Insecticidal 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-5-nitro-pyrimidine derivatives

A 1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-5-nitropyrimidine derivative of the formula ##STR254## in which (a) R.sup.1 stands for hydrogen or for optionally substituted radicals from the group consisting of benzyl, picolyl (pyridylmethyl) and phenoxyalkyl, the optional substituents being selected from the group consisting of halogen and cyano,

• n stands for the number 0 or 1 and
• R.sup.2 stands for the --A--R.sup.3 group, in which
• A stands for a direct bond or for the --(CH.sub.2).sub.m -- or --(CH.sub.2).sub.x --Y--(CH.sub.2).sub.z -- groupings,
• where
• m stands for the numbers 1 to 4,
• x and z stand for the numbers 0, 1 or 2, it being possible for x and z to be identical or different, and
• Y stands for oxygen, sulphur or for the --NH-- or ##STR255## where R.sup.4 stands for optionally alkoxycarbonyl-substituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, cyano, hydroxyl or for phenyl, and
• R.sup.3 stands for an optionally substituted radical selected from the group consisting of phenyl, naphthyl, anthryl, phenanthryl, pyridyl, furyl, thienyl, piperidyl and 1,3-benzodioxolyl, the optional substituents being selected from the group consisting of halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, halogeno-C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkoxy, halogeno-C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkylthio, hydroxyl, di-C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkylamino, carboxyl and phenyl, with the exception of the compounds (a), in which
• (.alpha.) R.sup.1 stands for the 2-chloro-pyridin-5-yl-methyl radical and
• R.sup.2 simultaneously stands for benzyl, 4-chlorobenzyl, 2-chlorobenzyl, pyridin-3-yl-methyl, furan-2-yl-methyl, phenethyl, thien-2-yl-methyl, 1-phenyl-ethyl or 3,4-dimethoxybenzyl, or
• (.beta.) R.sup.1 stands for hydrogen and simultaneously R.sup.2 denotes benzyl, pyridin-3-yl-methyl and 4-chlorobenzyl, or in which
• (b) R.sup.1 stands for hydrogen or for optionally substituted radicals from the group consisting of benzyl, picolyl and phenoxyalkyl, the optional substituents being selected from the group consisting of halogen and cyano,
• n stands for the number 0 or 1 and
• R.sup.2 stands for the --A--R.sup.3 group, in which
• A stands for a direct bond or for the --(CH.sub.2).sub.m -- or --(CH.sub.2).sub.x --Y--(CH.sub.2).sub.z -- groupings, where
• m stands for the numbers 1 to 4,
• x and z stand for the numers 0, 1 or 2, it being possible for x and z to be identical or different, and
• Y stands for oxygen, sulphur or for the --NH-- or ##STR256## where R.sup.4 stands for optionally alkoxycarbonyl-substituted C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, cyano, hydroxyl or for phenyl, and
• R.sup.3 stands for halogeno-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or for an optionally substituted radicals from the group consisting of phenyl, naphthyl, anthryl, phenanthryl, pyridyl, furyl, thienyl, piperidyl and 1,3-benzodioxolyl, the optional substituents being selected from the group consisting of halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, halogeno-C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkoxy, halogeno-C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkylthio, hydroxyl, di-C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 -alkylamino, carboxyl and phenyl, or an addition salt thereof.
