Abstract
Herbicidal benzo-fused cyclic compounds of the formula ##STR1## wherein Q is ##STR2## Y is O or S, W is ##STR3## T is O, S, --NH-- or ##STR4## and R.sup.4 may represent, together with T, chlorine, Z is O or S, X is hydrogen or halogen, n is 0 or 1 and R is C.sub.3-6 cycloalkyl, an optionally substituted 5-membered heterocyclic group or an optionally substituted 6-membered heteroaromatic group which contains one to three nitrogen atoms, and salts thereof.

A benzo-fused cyclic compound of the formula ##STR101## wherein O is ##STR102## in which R.sup.1 is methyl or both R's together form tetramethylene,
- R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 together represent tetramethylene or --CH.sub.2 CH.dbd.CHCH.sub.2 --,
- R.sup.4 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylcarbonyl or phenyl,
- Y is O or S,
- W is ##STR103## T is O, S, --NY-- or ##STR104## or R.sup.4 --T-- may represent chlorine,
- Z is O or S,
- X is hydrogen or halogen, and
- R is pyridyl optionally substituted with amino, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylamino, di(C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl)-amino, formylamino, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylcarbonylamino, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkylthio, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, halogeno-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy-C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl.
