Abstract
Certain novel heavy metal salts of dithiophosphonate derivatives, particularly monoesters, may be prepared inexpensively from hindered phenol compounds and are useful as anti-oxidants for example in lubricants and/or polymer materials.
Claims10
Metal salts of dithiophosphonic acid derivatives of the general formula:
- ##STR9## wherein Ar is a hindered phenol group, R' is a hydrocarbyl radical and X.sub.1 is selected from sulphur, oxygen and amino groups NR.sub.2 wherein each R is hydrogen or a hydrocarbyl group, wherein the metal of said metal salts is a transition metal.
The zinc or copper salt of a compound selected from 4-(2,6-di-t-butylphenol)-dithiophosphonic acid O-tridecyl monoester.
The cuprous salts of a compound selected from 4-(2,6-di-t-butylphenol)-dithiophosphonic acid O-i-butyl monoester.
Metal salts of dithiophosphonic acid derivatives of the general formula:
- ##STR10## wherein Ar is a hindered phenol group, R' is a hydrocarbyl radical and X.sub.1 is selected from sulphur, oxygen and amine groups wherein each R is hydrogen or a hydrocarbyl group, wherein the metal of the said metal salts is aluminum.
