Abstract
The present invention relates to the use of bis(3,5-di-tertiary-butyl-4-hydroxyphenylthio)methane in treating atherosclerosis and/or hypercholesterolemia in patients suffering therefrom.
Claims3
A method of inhibiting the progression of atherosclerosis in a patient in need thereof comprising administering to said patient a therapeutically effective antiatherosclerotic amount of bis(3,5-di-tertiary-butyl-4-hydroxyphenylthio)methane.
A method of inhibiting the peroxidation of LDL cholesterol in a patient in need thereof comprising administering to said patient a therapeutically effective antioxidant amount of bis(3,5-di-tertiary-butyl-4-hydroxyphenylthio)methane.
A method of treating a patient for atherosclerosis comprising administering to said patient a therapeutically effective antiatherosclerotic amount of bis(3,5-ditertiary-butyl-4-hydroxyphenylthio)methane.
