Abstract
Water-soluble, yellow monoazo dyestuffs of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is a moiety of the formula ##STR2## R.sup.2 is methyl, ethyl, methoxy or ethoxy, R.sup.3 is methyl or ethyl, and n is a number from 0.3 to 1.7, are useful for the preparation of recording fluids.

Water soluble yellow monoazo dyestuffs of the formula ##STR13## wherein R.sup.1 is a moiety of the formula ##STR14## R.sup.2 is methyl, ethyl, methoxy or ethoxy, R.sup.3 is methyl or ethyl and
- n is a number from 0.3 to 1.7.
Recording fluid containing 0.5 to 15% by weight of a dyestuff according to claim 1, 10 to 95% by weight of water and 0.5 to 70% by weight of solvent or humectant or a mixture of solvent and humectant.
