Abstract
An automatic cop replacing apparatus for a shuttle-type loom with which a cop contained in the shuttle is automatically replaced, including tying the threads together of the old and new cops, and requiring no operator intervention. The apparatus includes a hand for gripping the cop, a rotary arm plate on which the hand is mounted, a drive device for rotating the rotary arm plate and for linearly moving the rotary arm plate in the axial direction with respect, thereto and a drive shaft for moving the rotary arm plate to an exchange position for the cop. A thread tying device holds and ties together the threads of the old and new cops.
Claims9
An automatic cop exchanging apparatus for exchanging a cop on which weft yarn is wound in a loom for producing woven material in which a shuttle is passed between an upper warp and a lower warp, comprising:
- cop pick up means for picking up a new cop and delivering said new cop to a predetermined position;
- cop setting means for picking up an old cop within said shuttle, receiving said new cop delevered by said pickup means, and setting said new cop in said shuttle;
- thread processing means for processing threads of said new and old cops by making said threads of said new and old cops coincide in position;
- tying means for tying said ends of said threads together;
- and
- reel means for dispersing the position of knot portions of the tied threads through said woven material.
The cop replacing apparatus of claim 3, wherein said cop unloading apparatus further comprises a first beam member extending parallel to said first guide shafts and a second beam member extending parallel to said second guide shaft, each of said first and second beam members having provided thereon a plurality of position-indicating positioning members for indicating the position of said X and Y slider;
- and said X and Y slider, respectively, mounted thereon at a position so as to be engageable with said positioning member.
