Abstract
Waxy hydrocarbon oils, e.g., of petroleum origin, are catalytically dewaxed to produce high viscosity index lubricating oil stocks utilizing as catalyst acidic zeolite ZSM-57.
Claims13
A process for catalytically dewaxing a waxy hydrocarbon oil to provide a dewaxed lubricating oil which comprises contacting said oil under catalytic dewaxing conditions with a catalyst comprising acidic zeolite ZSM-57 to provide said dewaxed lubricating oil.
A process for catalytically dewaxing a waxy hydrocarbon oil to provide a dewaxed lubricating oil which comprises contacting said oil under catalytic dewaxing conditions with a catalyst to provide said dewaxed lubricating oil, said catalyst comprising an acidic zeolite having a molar ratio of XO.sub.2 :Y.sub.2 O.sub.3 of at least 4, wherein X represents silicon and/or germanium and Y represents aluminum, boron, chromium, iron and/or gallium, said porous crystalline zeolite having at least the X-ray diffraction lines as set forth in Table 1 of the specification.
