Abstract
A motion compensated interpolator for digital television images comprises a three-dimensional variable separable finite impulse response interpolation filter operating in the horizontal, vertical and temporal domains.
Claims26
A method of motion compensated interpolation of digital television images comprising applying input video data corresponding to said television images to a three-dimensional finite impulse response interpolation filter operating in the horizontal, vertical and temporal domains.
A method according to any one of the preceding claims wherein fields are aligned to sub-pixel resolution independence on motion vectors representing motion of a pixel in said image.
An apparatus for effecting motion compensated interpolation of digital television images comprising a three-dimensional finite impulse response interpolation filter operating in the horizontal, vertical and temporal domains.
