Abstract
A new beta quinacridone polytype having a magenta color and a distinct X-ray diffraction pattern, said new form preferably having an average particle size of about 0.2-0.8 .mu.m and being prepared by various wet milling or reflux procedures in alcohol-base systems.
Claims27
A magenta quinacridone pigment in beta crystal form characterized by an X-ray diffraction pattern exhibiting two strong lines corresponding to interplanar spacings of 14.88 .ANG. and 3.26 .ANG., four medium strength lines corresponding to 7.49 .ANG., 5.59 .ANG., 5.50 .ANG. and 3.99 .ANG., and four relatively weak lines corresponding to 5.05 .ANG., 4.77 .ANG., 4.24 .ANG. and 3.73 .ANG..
