Copper Complexes of disazo compounds having two substituted 2-hydroxyphenyl diazo component radicals and two 3-methylpyrazol-5-one coupling component radicals

A complex of the formula ##STR102## or a salt thereof each cation of which is independently a non-chromophoric cation,

• wherein B is ##STR103## wherein each of R.sub.14 and R.sub.15 is independently hydrogen or C.sub.1-4 alkyl, and
• Z is linear or branched C.sub.2-6 alkylene;
• linear or branched C.sub.3-6 alkylene monosubstituted by hydroxy;
• C.sub.5-6 cycloalkylene;
• C.sub.5-6 cycloalkylene substituted by 1 to 3 C.sub.1-4 alkyl groups;
• phenylene;
• phenylene substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from halo, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, sulfo and carboxy;
• ##STR104## wherein A is --CH.dbd.CH-- or --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --, and Z.sub.1 is --NHCONH-- or --NHCO--, or
• --NR.sub.14 --Z--NR.sub.15 -- is ##STR105## and each Ya is independently chloro;
• hydroxy;
• methoxy;
• amino;
• C.sub.1-4 alkylamino;
• N,N--di(C.sub.1-4 alkyl)amino;
• C.sub.2-4 hydroxyalkylamino;
• methoxy(C.sub.2-4 alkyl)amino;
• amino(C.sub.2-4 alkyl)amino;
• sulfo(C.sub.1-4 alkyl)amino;
• C.sub.3-4 dihydroxyalkylamino;
• N,N--di--(C.sub.2-4 hydroxyalkyl)amino;
• phenylamino;
• phenylamino the phenyl group of which is substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from chloro, methyl, methoxy, acetamido, sulfo, carboxy and 2-sulfatoethylsulfonyl;
• piperidino or morpholino,
• each of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 is independently hydrogen, halo, nitro, C.sub.1-4 alkyl, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, --NHCO--R.sub.6, --CO--R.sub.7 or --SO.sub.2 --R.sub.8,
• wherein R.sub.6 is C.sub.1-4 alkyl or phenyl,
• R.sub.7 is hydroxy;
• --OR.sub.9 ;
• C.sub.1-4 alkyl;
• phenyl;
• phenyl substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from halo, nitro, C.sub.1-4 alkyl and C.sub.1-4 alkoxy;
• cyclohexyl;
• cyclohexyl substituted by 1 to 3 C.sub.1-4 alkyl groups;
• or --NR.sub.10 R.sub.11,
• wherein R.sub.9 is C.sub.1-4 alkyl;
• phenyl;
• phenyl substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from halo, nitro, C.sub.1-4 alkyl and C.sub.1-4 alkoxy;
• phenyl(C.sub.1-4 alkyl) or phenyl(C.sub.1-4 alkyl) the phenyl group of which is substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from halo, nitro, C.sub.1-4 alkyl and C.sub.1-4 alkoxy,
• R.sub.10 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkyl;
• C.sub.1-4 alkyl substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from hydroxy, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, halo and cyano;
• phenyl;
• phenyl substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from halo, nitro, C.sub.1-4 alkyl and C.sub.1-4 alkoxy;
• cyclohexyl or cyclohexyl substituted by 1 to 3 C.sub.1-4 alkyl groups, and
• R.sub.11 is hydrogen;
• C.sub.1-4 alkyl;
• C.sub.1-4 alkyl substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from hydroxy, C.sub.1-4 alkoxy, halo and cyano;
• cyclohexyl or cyclohexyl substituted by 1 to 3 C.sub.1-4 alkyl groups, or --NR.sub.10 R.sub.11 is morpholino, piperidino, piperazino or pyrrolidino,
• R.sub.8 is hydroxy;
• C.sub.1-4 alkyl;
• C.sub.1-4 alkyl monosubstituted by halo or sulfato;
• C.sub.2-4 alkenyl;
• phenyl;
• phenyl substituted by 1 or 2 substituents selected from halo, nitro, C.sub.1-4 alkyl and C.sub.1-4 alkoxy;
• cyclohexyl;
• cyclohexyl substituted by 1 to 3 C.sub.1-4 alkyl groups;
• or --NR.sub.10 R.sub.11, wherein R.sub.10 and R.sub.11 are as defined above,
• with the proviso that at least one of R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 is --SO.sub.2 --R.sub.8,
• each R.sub.5 is independently hydrogen, C.sub.1-4 alkyl or C.sub.1-4 alkyl monosubstituted by hydroxy, halo or cyano, and
• each X is independently ##STR106## wherein A is --CH.dbd.CH-- or --CH.sub.2 CH.sub.2 --, R.sub.12 is hydrogen or sulfo, and
• R.sub.13 is hydrogen, halo, C.sub.1-4 alkyl or C.sub.1-4 alkoxy,
• or a mixture of such complexes each of which is in free acid form or salt form each cation of which is independently a non-chromophoric cation.
