Abstract
Disclosed is a process for producing propylene oligomers at high selectivities which comprises oligomerizing propylene in the presence of a catalyst comprising an alkyl substituted cyclopentadienyl compound of zirconium and/or hafnium and a condensation product of organoaluminum compound and water.
Claims16
A process for producing propylene oligomers using a catalyst comprising a transition metal compound and an organometallic compound which comprises oligomerizing propylene in the presence of a catalyst comprising a cyclopentadienyl compound represented by the formula (1):
- (R.sub.5 C.sub.5).sub.m.M.X.sub.4-m ( 1)
- wherein R represents an alkyl group of 1-20 carbon atoms, R.sub.5 C.sub.5 represents an alkyl substituted cyclopentadienyl group, M represents a zirconium atom or a hafnium atom, X represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group of 1-20 carbon atoms or a halogen atom and m represents a real number of 2-4;
- and a condensation product of an organoaluminum compound and water as an organometallic compound.
A process for producing propylene oligomers using a catalyst comprising a transition metal compound and an organometallic compound which comprises oligomerizing propylene in the presence of a catalyst comprising a coordination compound obtained by reacting a cyclopentadienyl compound represented by the formula (1):
- (R.sub.5 C.sub.5).sub.m.M.X.sub.4-m ( 1)
- wherein R represents an alkyl group of 1-20 carbon atoms, R.sub.5 C.sub.5 represents an alkyl substituted cyclopentadienyl group, M represents a zirconium atom or a hafnium atom, X represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group of 1-20 carbon atoms or a halogen atom and m represents a real number of 2-4, with an electron donating compound having at least one atom selected from the group consisting of oxygen and nitrogen;
- and a condensation product of an organoaluminum compound and water as an organometallic compound.
