Abstract
In an overcurrent protective relay thermally operable by a bimetal, a movable contact mechanism is employed by utilizing a snap inversion mechanism. A normally-closed contact is employed with having an overtravel to achieve the reliable contacting. A manually resettable lever is also employed to open the normally-closed contact after the overcurrent protective relay has been actuated.
Claims4
A thermally-sensitive overcurrent protective relay where the bending motion of a bimetal (3) bent in response to a main circuit current is transmitted to a snapping inversion mechanism with a toggle mechanism to actuate normally-closed contacts (56,59) having a movable contact element and a fixed contact element and normally-open contacts (24,25) having a movable contact element and a fixed contact element in an interlocking manner, comprising:
- a contact reset mechanism (62,64) having a reset bar (64) and communicating means for transmitting a snapping inversion motion between said normally-closed contacts (56,59) and said normally-open contacts (24,25), said communicating means including a first lever (62) where a first arm (62B) of said first lever (62) is engaged with one end of said a movable contact element (56) of said normally-closed contacts (56,59), while a second arm (62C) of said first lever (62) is engaged with said normally-open movable contact element (25), said first lever (62) being pivotally supported substantially at its center portion (62A), the snap inversion of the movable contact element (56) of said normally-closed contacts (56,59) is transmitted to said normally-open contacts (24,25) by means of rotation of said first lever (62), and said normally-open contacts (24,25) are displaced and reset by said reset bar (64) in the direction opposite to the snap inversion;
- and
- a reset/interruption mechanism having a second lever (63) with a first arm (63B) and a second arm (63C) extending in a first direction and a second direction respectively from a tubular portion (63A) serving as a bearing means for the center portion (62A) of said first lever (62), where said first arm (63B) of said second lever (63) is engaged with said fixed contact element (59) of said normally-closed contacts (56,59) while said second arm (63C) of said second lever (63) is disposed opposite to said reset bar (64), and said second lever (63) is disposed opposite a motion of said reset bar (64) in a recovery direction so as to open said normally-closed contacts (24,25).
A thermally-sensitive overcurrent protective relay wherein a bending motion of a bimetal (3) bent in response to a main circuit current is transmitted to a snapping inversion mechanism with a toggle mechanism to actuate normally-closed contacts (56,59) and normally-open contacts (24,25) in an interlocking manner, comprising:
- normally-closed contacts (56,59) including a movable contact element;
- normally-open contacts (24,25) including a movable contact element;
- and
- communicating means (62) for transmitting a snapping inversion motion between said normally-closed contacts (56,59) and said normally-open contacts (24,25) said communicating means (62) comprising a lever rotatable (62) around its axis where a center of gravity of said lever (62) is substantially coincident in position to the center of rotation.
