Abstract
Novel diaryl ethers of the formula ##STR1## wherein A is CR.sup.3 or N and R.sup.1, R.sup.2, R.sup.3, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, n and R.sup.6 are as defined hereinafter, processes for their preparation, herbicidal compositions which contain these compounds as the active ingredient as well as the use of these compounds or compositions for the control of weeds is disclosed.
Claims35
A Compound of the formula ##STR14## wherein A is CR.sup.3 or N,
- R.sup.1 is halogen or trifluoromethyl,
- R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 independently of each other are hydrogen, halogen, nitro or cyano,
- R.sup.4 is halogen, nitro or cyano,
- R.sup.5 is hydrogen or C.sub.1-3 -alkyl,
- n is 0 or 1,
- R.sup.6 is one of the following groups
- (a)-(b) ##STR15## R.sup.7 is C.sub.1-6 -alkyl, R.sup.8 is C.sub.1-6 -alkyl or C.sub.1-6 -alkoxy,
- R.sup.7 and R.sup.8 together with the carbon atom to which they are attached are a C.sub.5-7 -cycloalkane ring,
- X is methylene, ethylene or ethylidene,
- R.sup.9 and R.sup.10 independently of each other are hydrogen or C.sub.1-4 -alkyl,
- R.sup.11 is hydrogen or methyl,
- R.sup.12 is C.sub.1-4 -alkyl or Z-chloroethyl, and
- Y is oxygen or sulphur.
