2-substituted-4-aryl-substituted thiazoles

A compound of the formula ##STR6## where R is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, phenyl, phenyl substituted by CF.sub.3, halo selected from I, Br, Cl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkoxy, acetamido, nitro, cyano, alkylamino or dialkylamino having 1-4 carbons or pyridinyl,

• R.sub.1 is H or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl,
• R.sub.2 is H, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkoxy Cl, Br, or I,
• R.sub.3 or R.sub.4 are --O--(CH.sub.2).sub.m --NR.sub.5 R.sub.6, wherein one of R.sub.3 or R.sub.4 is H, provided that when R.sub.4 is --O--(CH.sub.2).sub.m --NR.sub.5 R.sub.6, R.sub.3 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkoxy, or Cl, Br or I,
• R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are the same or different and are C.sub.1 -C.sub.5 alkyl, C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 cycloalkyl, benzyl, benzyl substituted by C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkoxy, halo selected from Br, I, Cl or CF.sub.3, or R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 together with N are imidazole, triazole, piperidine, pyrolidine or N-substituted piperazine wherein the substituent is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, phenyl or phenyl substituted by C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkoxy, and
• m is 2-6, and acid addition salts thereof.
