Abstract
An olefin polymerization catalyst comprising the reaction product of a metallocene complex of Group IVB, VB, VIb, and VIII of the Periodic Table and an excess of alumoxane.

A method for preparing polymers of ethylene and copolymers of ethylene and alpha-olefins or diolefins said method comprising effecting polymerization by contacting ethylene or a mixture of ethylene and alpha-olefins or diolefins with an olefin polymerization catalyst comprising the hydrocarbon insoluble reaction product of at least one metallocene of a metal of group IV B, VB, VI B and VIII of the Periodic Table with an alumoxane at a ratio of 1:12 to about 1:100 on a molar basis based on the metal and aluminum.
