Abstract
Dolichol or phosphate thereof is useful as a therapeutically treating and preventive agent, in particular, for hyperuricuria, hyperlipemia, diabetes and hepatic diseases.

A method of treating hepatitis and hepatocirrhosis, which comprises administering to a subject requiring such treatment, a therapeutically effective amount of a treating composition comprising a pharmaceutical carrier and an effective amount of at least one substance selected from the group consisting of compounds having the formulas ##STR3## wherein n is an integer of 14 to 24, and m is an integer of 1 to 3.
