Abstract
A packing for chromatography, comprising a granular adsorbent and a fibrous material which are substantially homogeneously mixed with each other.
Claims18
In a chromatographic separation of materials in a liquid specimen wherein the specimen is passed through a column containing an adsorbent packing, thereby differentially to adsorb materials in the specimen, and thereafter eluting the adsorbed material, the improvement which comprises employing as the packing a substantially homogeneous mixture of a granular adsorbent and a fiber, the fiber being present in about 0.5 to 60% by weight of dry fiber plus granular adsorbent, the fiber having a length up to about 0.7 mm and a ratio of length to diameter of at least about 5.
