Abstract
An optically transparent hydrogen forming material comprising a copolymer of an optically transparent polyester having a molecular weight of 1,000 to 100,000 and at least one of polymerizable group in its molecule and N-vinyllactam. The hydrogel forming material has an excellent optical property, high gas-permeability and excellent mechanical property.
Claims10
A contact lens prepared from a hydrogel forming material comprising a copolymer a (A) an optically transparent polyester having a number average molecular weight of 1,000 to 100,000 obtained by reacting an epoxy compound and a cyclic acid anhydride and having at least one polymerizable group in the molecule and (B) an N-vinyllactam.
