Abstract
A ceramic heat exchanger element comprises a ceramic honeycomb body, fluid passages formed in the ceramic honeycomb body and ceramic tubes extending through and fixed to the ceramic honeycomb body so as to intersect the fluid passages. The ceramic of the honeycomb body, the fluid passages therein, and the tubes extending through and fixed thereto preferably have a thermal conductivity of 15 Kcal/m/hr/.degree.C. or higher.
Claims13
A ceramic heat exchanger element which comprises a ceramic honeycomb body, fluid passages formed in said honeycomb body and at least one ceramic tube extending through and fixed by a binder to said honeycomb body so as to intersect said fluid passages, wherein said honeycomb body and said at least one tube are made of ceramics having a thermal conductivity of 50 Kcal/m/hr/.degree.C. or higher and said binder comprises silicon or a mixture of silicon and silicon carbide as a main component.
