Abstract
An electrolyte for an electrolytic capacitor is disclosed containing a fluoro-complex acid salt of an alkylene bisamine compound as solute within an aprotic solvent. The electrolyte exhibits high conductivity while eliminating the drawbacks associated with the presence of water.

An electrolyte for electrolytic capacitors comprising an aprotic solvent and a fluorocomplex acid salt of an alkylene bisamine compound of general formula ##STR4## in which R.sub.1 is a linear or branched alkylene group of the formula C.sub.n H.sub.2n in which n is an integer from 2 to 6, and each R.sub.2 is independently selected from hydrogen, alkyl groups having 1 to 8 carbon atoms and alkenyl groups having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, R.sub.3 or R.sub.4 is absent or is hydrogen or is the same as R.sub.2.
