Abstract
Compounds of the formula I ##STR1## wherein R.sup.1 is hydrogen, chlorine, lower alkyl or lower alkoxy, R.sup.2 is hydrogen or alkyl, R.sup.3 is lower alkenoyl, X and Y are independently --O-- or --NH--, m is 0, 1 or 2 and n is 0 or 1, are suitable as copolymerizable UV stabilizers for polymers obtainable from ethylenically unsaturated monomers. The compounds of the formula I are readily obtainable, and are particularly valuable as UV absorbers by virtue of their good solubility in copolymerizable monomers.
Claims5
A compound of formula I ##STR15## wherein X is --O-- or --N(R.sup.4)--,
- Y is --O-- or --N(R.sup.5)--,
- Z is C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 -alkylene, 2-hydroxypropylene or cyclohexylene, m is 2,
- n is 1
- R.sup.1 is hydrogen or chlorine,
- R.sup.2 is tert-butyl,
- R.sup.3 is a group --C(O)--C(R.sup.6).dbd.C(H)R.sup.7, wherein R.sup.6 and R.sup.7 independently of one another are hydrogen or methyl, or
- R.sup.3, when Y is --N(R.sup.5)--, forms together with R.sup.5 a group --C(O)--CH.dbd.CH--C(O)--, and
- R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 independently of one another are hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl.
