Abstract
Various rubber polymers and copolymers have been added as a coating to seed beads of vinyl aromatic polymers. Cups molded from these beads were coffee leak tested and generally exhibited enhanced retention of coffee.
Claims4
A method for enhancing the coffee retention of molded foam cups made from vinyl aromatic polymer particles which have been impregnated with a blowing agent which method comprises coating the vinyl aromatic polymer particles with a effective amount of a rubber selected from the group consisting of polybutene, polyisobutylene, isobutylene-butene copolymer and butene-ethylene copolymer.
