Abstract
((Hydroxyphenyl)silane derivatives of the formula ##STR1## are effective in stabilizing organic materials against oxidative, thermal and actinic degradation, said derivatives being particularly effective as process stabilizers in organic materials containing phenolic antioxidants.
Claims20
A compound of the formula ##STR4## wherein n is an integer from 2-4;
- R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and X are independently hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.18 alkyl, C.sub.5 -C.sub.12 cycloalkyl, phenyl, phenyl substituted by alkyl of 1 to 18 carbon atoms, C.sub.7 -C.sub.9 aralkyl or said aralkyl substituted by alkyl of 1 to 18 carbon atoms;
- and X is also halogen or hydroxy;
- and
- R.sub.3 is hydrogen or --Si(R.sub.4)(R.sub.5)(R.sub.6) with R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 being independently C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or phenyl.
