Abstract
An infrared absorbent comprising a metal complex compound prepared by coordinating two thiorato bidentate ligands to a center metal and neutralizing a complex ion with a cation. With use of the infrared absorbent, there is provided an infrared absorbing material capable of absorbing a far-infrared or near-infrared light having a wavelength of 700-1500 nm which has a high transmittance of a visible light and a good fastness to heat and light. The infrared absorbing material can be used for an infrared absorbing material such as an optical filter or other various objects.
Claims18
A metal complex compound useful as an infrared absorbent prepared by coordinating two bidentate ligands selected from the following groups to a center metal selected from the group consisting of nickel, copper, cobalt, palladium and platinum and neutralizing such a complex with a cation ##STR164## wherein, R.sup.3 to R.sup.6 each independently represents a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, cyano group, hydroxyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl or heterocyclic group which may be bonded through a divalent connecting group to a benzene ring, or a group of nonmental atoms forming a substituted or unsubstituted five-membered or six membered ring by bonding of R.sup.3 and R.sup.4, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5, or R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 ;
- R.sup.3 to R.sup.6 may be the same or different.
A metal complex compound selected from the group consisting of formulae (I) and (II) ##STR165## wherein, Cat represent cations required for neutralizing said complex and M represents nickel, copper, cobalt, palladium or platinium.
An infrared absorbing composition comprising a metal complex compound prepared by coordinating two bidentate ligands selected from the following groups to a center metal selected from the group consisting of nickel, copper, cobalt, palladium and platinum and neutralizing such a complex with a cation ##STR166## wherein, R.sup.3 to R.sup.6 each independently represents a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, cyano group, hydroxyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl or heterocyclic group which may be bonded through a divalent connecting group to a benzene ring, or a group of nonmetal atoms forming a substituted or unsubstituted five-membered or six membered ring by bonding of R.sup.3 and R.sup.4, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5, or R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 ;
- R.sup.3 to R.sup.6 may be the same or different;
- and
- a binder.
An infrared absorbing composition comprising a binder and at least one metal complex compound represented by the following formulae [I] and [II] ##STR167## wherein, Cat represent cations required for neutralizing said complex, and M represents nickel, copper, cobalt, palladium or platinum.
An infrared absorbent article comprising a material containing a metal complex compound prepared by coordinating two bidentate ligands selected from the following groups to a center metal selected from the group consisting of nickel, copper, cobalt, palladium and platinum and neutralizing such a complex with a cation ##STR168## wherein, R.sup.3 to R.sup.6 each independently represents a hydrogen atom, halogen atom, cyano group, hydroxyl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, aryl, cycloalkyl or heterocyclic group which may be bonded through a divalent connecting group to a benzene ring, or a group of nonmetal atoms forming a substituted or unsubstituted five-membered or six membered ring by bonding of R.sup.3 and R.sup.4, R.sup.4 and R.sup.5, or R.sup.5 and R.sup.6 ;
- R.sup.3 to R.sup.6 may be the same or different.
