Abstract
A multilayered detector apparatus comprising: a first conductive layer: a photoconductive layer having two sides thick enough to obtain a desired level of sensitivity and resolution of the detector apparatus when the detector apparatus is exposed to radiation of known energy, one side of said photoconductive layer being integrally affixed to and in electrical contact with one side of said first conductive layer; a insulating layer having two sides that is a phosphor that will emit light when irradiated by X-rays, one side of said insulating layer being affixed to the other side of said photoconductive layer; and transparent conductive layer having two sides, one side of said transparent conductive layer being affixed to the other side of said insulating layer.
Claims12
A multilayered detector apparatus comprising:
- a first conductive layer;
- a photoconductive layer the sensitivity and resolution of which when exposed to radiation of known energy is determined by the thickness of said photoconductive layer, one side of said photoconductive layer being in electrical communication through planar contact with one side of said first conductive layer;
- a insulating phosphor layer capable of emitting light when irradiated by x-rays, one side of said phosphor layer being in planar contact with and affixed to the side of said photoconductive layer opposite said conductive layer;
- and
- a second conductive layer in planar contact with and affixed to said phosphor layer on the side opposite said photoconductive layer.
