Abstract
Tetralin derivatives of the formula I ##STR1## where X, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 have the meanings stated in the description, and their preparation are described. The novel compounds are useful for the treatment of disorders.

A tetralin derivative of the formula I ##STR12## where R.sup.1 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy or halogen R.sup.2 is hyorogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl or C.sub.3 -C.sub.6 -cycloalkyl, X is --CH.sub.2 --CO--, --CH.sub.2 --CHOH, --CH.sub.2 --C(R.sup.4)OH--, --CH.sub.2 --C(OCOR.sub.4)H--, --CH.sub.2 --C(R.sup.4)(OCHOR.sup.5)--, --CHOH--CHOH--, --CH(OCOR.sup.4)--CH(OCOR.sub.4)--, --CH.sub.2 --CH(OR.sup.4)-- or ##STR13## (where R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are each C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl) and R.sup.3 is nitrile, C.sub.2 C.sub.10 -ketal or --CH(R.sup.7)(R.sup.8)-- or --CO--R.sup.9, where R.sup.7 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkyl, R.sup.8 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 -alkyl or --OR.sup.10 or --NR.sup.11 R.sup.12 (where R.sup.10, R.sup.11 and R.sup.12 are each hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, C.sub.2 -C.sub.20 -alkanoyl or unsubstituted or substituted benzoyl, or R.sup.11 and R.sup.12, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded, form a heterocyclic radical) and R.sup.9 is hydrogen, halogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, azido, imidazolyl, triazolyl or --OR.sup.13 or --NR.sup.14 R.sup.15 (where R.sup.13 is hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 -alkyl or is C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 -alkyl which is substituted by one or more hydroxyl groups or a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkoxy group, or is unsubstituted or substituted aryl or aralkyl which is unsubstituted or substituted in the aryl moiety, and R.sup.14 and R.sup.15 are each hydrogen or C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 -alkyl or are each C.sub.2 -C.sub.6 -alkyl which is substituted by one or more hydroxyl groups or are each aryl or tetrazolyl, or R.sup.14 and R.sup.15, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded, for a heterocyclic ring system possessing 3 to 6 ring atoms), and, where relevant, its physiologically tolerated salts.
