## Abstract

A reflecting mirror for reflecting a beam of light emitted from a light source along an optical axis, the mirror comprising at least two spherical sections. Each section is arranged to produce an image of the light source adjacent to but not coincident with the light source.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A reflecting mirror for reflecting a beam of light emitted from a longitudinal light source, said mirror comprising at least two sections, each of which is arranged to produce an image of the light source adjacent to but not coincident with the light source, each of said sections being joined at a part line which is arranged parallel to the longitudinal axis of said light source.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The reflecting mirror of claim 1, wherein each of said sections is defined by a portion of a sphere.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The reflecting mirror of claim 1, wherein said mirror comprises four sections, the four sections being joined at said part line and at a second part line, said second part line being arranged at a right angle to the longitudinal axis of said light source.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The reflecting mirror of claim 1, wherein said mirror comprises four sections, the four sections being joined at part lines, one of which is disposed parallel to the longitudinal axis of the light source and another of which is disposed at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the light source.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The reflecting mirror of claim 4, wherein each of said sections is defined by a portion of a sphere.

### Claim 6 (depends on 4)

The reflecting mirror of claim 4, wherein two of the images of the light source are at least partially superimposed upon each other.

### Claim 7

A reflecting mirror for reflecting a beam of light emitted from a longitudinal light source, said mirror comprising at least two sections, each of which is arranged to produce an image of the light source, each of said sections being joined at a part line which is arranged at a right angle to the longitudinal axis of said light source.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The reflecting mirror of claim 7, wherein said mirror comprises four sections, the four sections joined at said part line and at a second part line, said second part line being arranged parallel to the longitudinal axis of said light source.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The reflecting mirror of claim 8, wherein each of said sections is defined by a portion of a sphere.

### Claim 10 (depends on 8)

The reflecting mirror of claim 8, wherein
each of said four sections produces an image of the light source which is adjacent but not coincident with the light source and wherein at least two of the images of the light source are at least partially superimposed on each other.

### Claim 11 (depends on 7)

The reflecting mirror of claim 7, wherein each of said sections is defined by a portion of a sphere.
