Abstract
Novel substituted aminohydroxypropoxyphenyl oxazole and thiazole compounds and methods for their preparation are disclosed. These compounds, and their salts exhibit cardioselective .beta.-adrenergic blocking activity, and are useful as antihypertensive, cardioprotective, antiarrhythmic and antianginal agents.
Claims6
A compound having formula:
- ##STR25## wherein:
- X is oxygen or sulfur;
- R is
- C.sub.3 -C.sub.5 cycloalkyl;
- C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 linear or branched alkyl;
- unsubstituted or substituted aralkyl wherein the alkyl is linear or branched C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 and the aryl is C.sub.6 or C.sub.10 having 1-2 substituents selected from C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkoxy, halo, C.sub.1 -C.sub.8 alkyl;
- and
- n is 1 or 2;
- and, the pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salts thereof.
