Abstract
Disclosure is optically active 1-amino-2-(hydroxyphenyl) ethylphosphonic acid and derivatives thereof which are useful as intermediates for the preparation of phosphorus-containing oligopeptides exhibiting hypotensive activity.
Claims4
A compound of the formula:
- ##STR11## wherein R" is lower alkyl;
- X.sub.1 is benzyloxycarbonyl or t-butoxycarbonyl;
- and
- Y is hydrogen, hydroxyl or a group represented by OY.sub.1, wherein Y.sub.1 is a hydroxyl-protecting group selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl, benzyl and benzyloxycarbonyl, and wherein the aromatic amino acid part has L-configuration and the 1-amino-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)ethylphosphonic acid part has negative specific rotation.
