Novel alkoxyimino ether derivatives of 5-acyl-2(1H)-pyridinones

A compound of the formula ##STR9## and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, wherein R.sub.1 is C.sub.1-10 alkyl,

• R.sub.3 is H, lower alkyl, --C.tbd.N, --NH.sub.2, --CONH.sub.2 or --COOR with R being hydrogen or lower alkyl,
• R.sub.4 is hydrogen or lower alkyl,
• R.sub.5 is pyridyl,
• R.sub.6 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-10 alkyl, phenyl X-substituted phenyl, hydroxy or lower alkoxy, and X is lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, lower alkyl thio, lower alkyl sulfone, lower alkyl sulfoxide, halogen, nitro, lower alkanoyl, alkoxy carbonyl, carboxy, cyano, NH.sub.2 , CONH.sub.2, COOR with R being hydrogen or lower alkyl, amidino, imidazol-2-yl, or CF.sub.3.
