Abstract
An analytical element for the detection of hydrogen peroxide comprising a peroxidase-functional material, a hydrogen donor and a coupler, wherein the peroxidase-functional material and hydrogen donor are arranged so as to be separate from each other, for example in separate layers, but are made interactive by the application of a fluid sample.

In a multilayered analytical element for detecting hydrogen peroxide which comprises peroxidase-functional material, a hydrogen donor and a coupler, the improvement comprising arranging said peroxidase-functional material and said hydrogen donor in different layers in a manner so that they are separated from each other but are capable of interacting when a liquid sample is applied to the analytical element.
