[(5,6-dichloro-3-oxo-2,9a-alkano-2,3,9,9a-tetrahydro-1H-fluoren-7-yl)oxy] alkanoic acids and alkanimidamides

A compound of the formula:

• ##STR12## wherein:
• R is --COOR.sup.1, ##STR13## R.sup.1 is hydrogen, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 alkylcarboxy;
• R.sup.2 is NH.sub.2, NHR.sup.4 or NR.sup.4 R.sup.5 ;
• R.sup.3 is NH or NR.sup.4 ;
• R.sup.4, R.sup.5 are each independently lower alkyl,
• branched or unbranched, containing from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, or amino, provided that R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 are not both amino;
• wherein R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 may be joined together via R.sup.4 to form a heterocyclic ring of 5 or 6 atoms containing 2 nitrogen atoms and 3 or 4 carbon atoms, ##STR14## or wherein R.sup.4 and R.sup.5 may be joined together to form a 5- or 6-membered ring containing one nitrogen atom and 4 or 5 carbon atoms, ##STR15## X and Y are halo or lower alkyl, such as methyl;
• and x is 1 to 4;
• y is 1 to 3
