Abstract
Disclosed are diphenoxymethyl pyridines, their preparation and their use as herbicides.
Claims9
A compound corresponding to the formula ##STR24## wherein A is oxygen or sulfur;
- R represents the radical ##STR25## wherein R.sup.2 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms;
- X represents bromo, chloro or fluoro;
- n represents an integer of 0 to 1;
- Z represents bromo, chloro, fluoro, alkylthio of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and m represents an integer of 0 or 1.
A herbicidal composition which comprises an inert carrier in admixture with a herbicidally effective amount of a compound corresponding to the formula ##STR26## wherein A is oxygen or sulfur;
- P represents the radical wherein R.sup.2 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms;
- X represents bromo, chloro or fluoro;
- n represents an integer of 0 or 1;
- Z represents boromo, chloro, fluoro, ##STR27## alkylthio of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and m represents an integer of 0 or 1.
A method for controlling the growth of undesirable plants which comprises applying to plants, plant parts or their habitat a composition which comprises an inert carrier in admixture with a herbicidally effective amount of a compound corresponding to the formula ##STR28## wherein A is oxygen or sulfur R represents the radical ##STR29## wherein R.sup.2 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms;
- X represents bromo, chloro or fluoro;
- n represents an integer of 0 or 1;
- Z represents bromo, chloro, fluoro, alkylthio of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms and m represents an integer of 0 or 1.
