Fluorine-containing surface active compositions

A fluorine-containing surface active composition consisting essentially of from 10 to 90 parts by weight of a nonionic surfactant selected from at least one member of the group consisting of:

• C.sub.7 F.sub.15 CONHC.sub.3 H.sub.6 N(CH.sub.3).sub.2 .fwdarw.O
• C.sub.9 F.sub.19 SO.sub.2 N(C.sub.2 H.sub.5)(C.sub.2 H.sub.4 O).sub.16 H,
• C.sub.8 F.sub.17 CH.sub.2 O(C.sub.2 H.sub.4 O).sub.10 H,
• C.sub.9 F.sub.19 COO(C.sub.2 H.sub.4 O).sub.5 CH.sub.3,
• C.sub.9 F.sub.19 COO(C.sub.2 H.sub.4 O).sub.5 C.sub.12 H.sub.25, and
• C.sub.9 F.sub.17 O(C.sub.2 H.sub.4 O).sub.20 C.sub.9 F.sub.17 ;
• and
• from 90 to 10 parts by weight of at least one surfactant of the formula:
• ##STR15## wherein R is a substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic group of 4 to 20 carbon atoms or a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group of 6 to 20 carbon atoms, R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 are each a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic group of 4 to 20 carbon atoms, a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic hydrocarbon group of 6 to 20 carbon atoms or a fluorine-containing group comprising not more than 5 carbon atoms, of which each carbon atom bears at least one fluorine atom, and X.sup.- is an anion, provided that at least one of R.sup.1, R.sup.2, and R.sup.3 is a fluorine-containing group or, when none of R.sup.1, R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 is the fluorine-containing group, X.sup.- is a fluorine-containing anion corresponding to the fluorine-containing group.
