Abstract
NMR imaging methods are provided for determining the spatial petrophysical properties of materials. These methods employ the generation of separate M.sub.o, T.sub.1 and T.sub.2 images from which various petrophysical characteristics may be obtained, such as free fluid index, porosity, pore sizes and distributions, capillary pressure, permeability, formation factor and clay content.
Claims8
A method for obtaining at least one petrophysical property of a porous material containing therein at least one preselected fluid, comprising:
- NMR imaging said material to generate signals dependent upon both M(0) and T.sub.1 and M(0) and T.sub.2,
- generating separate M(0), T.sub.1 and T.sub.2 images from said signals, and
- determining said at least one petrophysical property from at least one of said images.
Dependencies are inferred from the claim text.
