Abstract
A polyamide for use in fabrication of containers having good oxygen barrier properties and a high heat deflection temperature. The polyamides are prepared from benzylsuccinic acids and piperazines.
Claims14
A container which is formed from a polyamide comprising recurring units of the formula ##STR3## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are hydrogen or methyl and R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are selected from hydrogen and lower alkyls.
A fiber- and film-forming polymer comprising recurring units of the formula ##STR4## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are hydrogen or methyl and R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and lower alkyl;
- the inherent viscosity of said polymer being at least 0.4.
