Abstract
Relates to deodorizing a polyoxypropylene group terminated polyoxyalkylene polyether polyol composition by removing allyloxypropan-2-ol in sufficient amount to reduce the content to less than 200 ppm.
Claims26
An oxypropylene group terminated polyoxyalkylene polyether polyol composition made by a base catalyzed process containing less than 200 ppm allyloxypropan-2-ol said composition being substantially free from undesirable odor.
An oxypropylene group terminated polyoxyalkylene polyether polyol composition made by a base catalyzed process containing less than 200 ppm allyloxypropan-2-ol produced by the process comprising removing said allyloxypropan-2-ol, along with other impurities, by subjecting said polyol to a vacuum of about 1.0 to 10 mm of mercury and then adjusting the pressure to 2.0 to 70 mm of mercury by injecting nitrogen below the surface of the liquid polyol said composition being substantially free from undesirable odor.
