Abstract
A compound having the following structural formula ##STR1## wherein R is nitro or hydrogen; R.sup.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl or C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkylthio; and R.sup.2 is hydrogen or chlorine and X is chlorine, bromine, or iodine.

A compound having the structural formula ##STR10## wherein R is nitro or hydrogen;
- R.sup.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkylthio, or cyclopropyl;
- and R.sup.2 is hydrogen or chlorine and X is chlorine, bromine, or iodine.
The method of controlling undesirable vegetation comprising applying to the area where control is desired, an herbicidally effective amount of a compound having the formula ##STR11## wherein R is nitro or hydrogen;
- R.sup.1 is C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 alkyl, C.sub.1 -C.sub.3 alkylthio, or cyclopropyl;
- and R.sup.2 is hydrogen or chlorine and X is chlorine, bromine, or iodine.
